Havard
Id get onto them about that, worst scenario possible would be no payout dude. She also needs to learn to not exceed the speed limit, jeesh I'll ring them tomorrow. I wouldn't expect one Sp30 to make a difference tbh. H. Im just wondering what stupidly high powered car i can buy now that insurance does not matter. I will try and increase the miles to 5000 and add the mrs see what happens. Sky just came back at £540 fully comp

I wonder what they would make of a BPU supra? They didnt care about the body kit and alloys. If they wont insure the BPU then i would leave the power stock, just for the savings Edited September 17, 2010 by The Raven (see edit history)
pistonbroke
Phoned lynbrooks today for a quote after seeing this thread a while ago. Sky sent me a reminder letter that I was due for renewal, and they came out over £100 dearer than last year. Lynbrooks have yet to get back to me, but for info, it's an all mods declared BPU supra. I'll post up what they quote when they let me know.

pistonbroke
Lynbrooks can't do BPU, unmodified only. (which is probably none of your if you're honest )

They said it was the level of modification. So probably small mods don't matter. But when performance is affected, it's a no no.

pistonbroke
Phoned around all day, and ended up with Sky again LWIB came out the cheapest at £500, but their excess is £600. Sky is £505 with escess of £300. All mods declared, not too shabby. Agreed value of £11000 too

Havard
I just saw this thread! Do you know if they would insure a na-tt? I would just tell them it's a TT. They won't ask if it has previously been anything else? Is it a TT on the logbook? H.

It just says 2jz on the logbook. Always has. But my insurance company know that i've done an engine swap & my insurance renewal only went up about £30. But that could be because of i've gained a sp30 in tie course of the last year. I'm with A-plan by the way. Age 30, 6 years ncb, sp30, all mods declared (bodykit, alloys, ice, engine conversion), car is garaged overnight, £885 fc.

I would just tell them it's a turbo and that it has had an engine swap years ago. Have you rang Lynbrook? Also, this would need to be a second car to get it on a classic policy, they won't allow commuting either. H.

I was reading through the thread & got a little confused about the ncb. Did you get that low quote using your ncb? Or did you tell them you're using them on another car?
