steady_dave
Help needed on this one guys. Was pulling out of Tesco's on Ecclesall road and was driving steadily, change into second and I hear a weird noise from the clutch pedal or just above it, then as my foot comes off the clutch a bold falls onto my left foot. I was only 30 seconds from home so pulled up and looked at the bolt. No idea what it is and because I was in such an unbelievable rush I havn't had time to look near the pedals to see whats going on. Anyone know what this bolt is for???

DannoSupra
I've got an N/A mate. Have a look at your intake pipework. It certainly looks like a hose clip bolt/screw. I could be wrong
steady_dave
Yeah ok will do. Bearing in mind i'm not mechanically trained what so ever, where abouts would I look on the intake pipework and what exactly am I looking for (apart from a missing bolt obviously) lol
JustGav
Intake pipes at a guess... that is a large pipe clip. It would be just as it goes from the black plastic pipe to the solid throttle body.
DannoSupra
Have a look at the clip that holds the pipe onto the throttle body in this pic http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KkwAilVjAWI/SSZQNuzGN7I/AAAAAAAAAC8/dFUKXhL9ZgQ/s400/GS300_2jz_30.jpg

Rob_Mitchell
Im just saying it looks like that type of bolt/screw yeah i 110% agree, from constantly stripping mine thats what it is, strange one
marc_p
Im sorry but unless im been really really stupid. How did a clip from inside the engine bay drop on the OP's Foot while driving? I was thinking the same thing. Somehow, unless it can magically transfer itself through the bulkhead, I don't think it's from the intake:d
Swampy442
Maybe off the boot round the steering column? It's the same bolt you get on the intake pipework clamps on a tt
CarlT67
Aint something to do with the clutch pedal adjusters is it? Would make sense as it dropped when you pressed the clutch.
JustGav
Maybe off the boot round the steering column? It's the same bolt you get on the intake pipework clamps on a tt I just opened this post to put that up as well... just dawned on me. steady_dave
So where on the steering column would it come from?
DannoSupra
Soz i meant to say check if its same kind of bolt as you get on the intake pipes (non pressure ones)
JustGav
So where on the steering column would it come from? The boot is on the bulkhead. Follow the steering column down to near the pedals.
DannoSupra
Where do the water pipes come through for heater matrix?
JustGav
Where do the water pipes come through for heater matrix? MUCH closer to the passenger side of the middle, and they are around 1inch and don't need a clip that sort of side.
steady_dave
The boot is on the bulkhead. Follow the steering column down to near the pedals. Yeah considering that it fell on my feet that would make sense that it came from there. Will have a look tonight!
Purity14
My guess its clutch pedal adjuster.
