before you read this i am not joking. Theres a rat living in my engine bay. opened the bonnet this morning and there it was, looking at me with a bit of fruit on top of my engine.:wtf:

now im not a small bloke and im in the security industry but i very near s**t a brick and threw it at it.:run:

It ran off to points unknown with me in hot pursuit. when i looked in the bay there were chicken bones and a fish, not a bit of fish but a fish!

must of come from one of the food shops nearby.

went down to homebase to get some poison for the little git, the assistant pi**ed himself laughing when i had to explain were the problem was. put a joblot on the engine tray {must be were he comes in}. i am the only person i know that can get carjacked by a rat.

will keep you updated.:search:

Im telling you now from very bad rat experience in my engine bay same problem like you. I tell you now they wont ever go away the smell is in your engine bay. You can poison them as much as you want try what ever you like once they leave their smell they will attract others on and on and on. They will haunt your supra like they did with mine. Only solution for me was the 500 pound carcoon cover:d:d:d:d

if you poison it it could/would die but then again where will it die and will it smell? best bet would be to get a trap as you then know if its dead or not

What would you know im the expert lol traps, poison, glue, what ever you try lol. Dont forget theres more rats than humans, once they leave their smell it will always attract other rats forever:D. I tryed everything on the market they worked but more kept coming back because of their smell they leave:cool:

The motherin law had a rat in her garden. It kept nicking the food from her aviary as it climbed up the mesh to get the bits of apple she left.

I set up a simple snare made from fishing line, and the father in law sat in wait with a pellet gun.

I had to say that it was mighty good fun for a sunday morning.

Rat got caught in snare as it climbed up, fell hung itself and father in law shot it:d

Then it was time for Karma. I left another snare as the mother in law thought there were 2 rats.

I got a phone call that evening that their favorite canary had hung itself :(, the bird must have seen the shine from the fishing line and thought it would be good for nesting material. It reached through the wire mesh, pulled it through and hung itself!!!

Morla of the story ?

Snares will catch your rat for sure, but they are indescriminate and could just as easily catch the neighbors cat.
