Josh
Yesterday I went to Everyman Racing in Loughborough for a driving experience I was bought as a present last Christmas. I drove a Porsche 997 GT3, Lamorghini Gallardo, Ferrari 360 and an Aston Martin DB9. This video is of me in the Gallardo; 6jtmmw7mB3Y This is of me in the DB9; 1fUnHgHJeWo I thought the Porsche was a good car, not the quickest but it held the road well so it gave me confidence as it was the first car I drove. The Lamborghini was great fun to drive and with the roof off the sound was incredible on WOT, it was easy to drive and a lot of fun. The Ferrari 360 I was a bit disappointed with. All of the other cars had paddle-shift gears but the Ferrari's manual 'box was quite hard to get into gear and the clutch was unbelievably heavy. It was quite savage and a very hard ride, not as enjoyable as the others. Finally I drove the Aston Martin DB9 which imho was the best out of all of them. The sound was beautiful and it handled so well. The instructor was good (as you can hear in the video) and it felt like the best handling car of the day. Here are some photos from the day as well, I got a hell of a lot more but here's a few. All in all a great day, great instructors and well worth the money. Highly recommend it. You may notice that I'm not very talkative in the videos but I was concentrating

Josh
id still rather a track day in my own car so i can thrash the holly nuts off it , Yeah I'd like to have been able to open them up a bit more. The instructor had to grab the wheel in the Ferrari at one point when the back end came round, I think as I've never driven a RWD car before I wasn't ready for it
Miguel
Looks like you had a fun day. You sure it was a GT3 you drove? GT3's are manual only and the one in your pictures looks more like a Carrera to me.
Havard
I've been on a couple of these and the Astons stand out by a mile. I drove a V8 Vantage and I defo want one after my TT when the prices get into the sub 30's. The last time I drove a 360 is was wet and the back end came out a wee bit. the instructor panicked but I thought I was ok to get it back, unfortunately he jammed on the break and greabbed the wheel..... They are great days out if you plan on owning a Supercar at some point. It made me realise how poorly Ferraris are put together and Lambo's are not much better or fun to drive. Astons and R8's ftw.... H.

It had the buttons on either side of the wheel, not paddles. If I were to buy one of the four I drove it would have to be the Aston Martin

The GT3 has a totally different bumper, centre exit exhausts and only comes in manual flavour. Not that it matters considering what else you got to drive

It was good anyhow, I'd definitely go again, but next time maybe do some single seater racing so no one can tell me to slow down or when to change gear and stuff
Shane
Looks good. I drove the GTR there last year and loved it, but it was all over a bit too soon.

Anyone done a single seater experience? My Dad did one at Silverstone but that was 20 years ago and I'd like to do that maybe.

Ok cool, deal Was the instructor in the Lambo called Neil ? He put his name down as "N.E.", I think he said Neil. I was told my scores were good too, out of 100 I got; 89 - Porsche 89 - Lambo 91 - Ferrari 92 - Aston Martin

Mike
How big was the Gallardo? My missus has just got me a track day voucher and I need to decide what to do with it I was thinking the Gallardo and the Ariel Atom..
Josh
How big was the Gallardo? My missus has just got me a track day voucher and I need to decide what to do with it I was thinking the Gallardo and the Ariel Atom.. Inside? I weigh 17 stone and fit in fine I'd like to have a go in the Atom. I noticed with the Gallardo that it gets a hell of a lot louder if you push the pedal down that last half an inch or so, I'm not sure if it opens a valve in the exhaust or anything but got a lot louder If I could have a go in one of the cars again I'd definitely pick the DB9.
