Thorin
Sennheiser definitely if on a budget IMO. If you've some cash to spend, Shure or Ultimate ears.
Mike
I can't get away with Sennheiser ones... I think I must have strange shaped lugs!? they just sound really tinny and rubbish. I'm not a fan of the 'bud' fitting. I always get these Sony ones... they're really cheap and very robust. My gf is a bit of a headphone snob and I got her some last year.. she swears by them too now

Ian W
Needing a new set as my Sennheiser's are knackered. Anyone tried anything new? If not, I'll be going for another set of CX300-II's.
Nick
I've got a set of Bose in earphones. Love them. Yet to hear better imo. Same here. Pricey but worth the extra.
Abz
Do not buy Dr Dre's headphones. They are rubbish! Are they? Which ones you tried Gaz? I have been seeing a lot of people wearing them lately! 2 of my colleagues have them & they both swear by them. They are expensive but I am maybe tempted to get them. Ian W
Giving this a little bump as I have ashamedly still not replaced my old sennheisers. So, what are people using these days? EDIT: looking at the Klipsch S4i's to work with my iPhone 4S
SupraDan24
So, what are people using these days? New sennheisers lol. They're fantastic value for money if you ask me, ive had mine for about 3 years and they're still great.
Colin-mkiv
The in ear Dre Beats are the dogs danglers, better quality than Sennheiser. My daughters sennheisers fell apart in weeks. Dre Beats are still going strong. The sound that they create. it doesnt sound like you're wearing in ear phones, they have the quality of a big headphone. Migth not be cheap, but they'll be the last pair you'll ever need!
James
Bose IE2 for me. Great (sound and build) quality, comfortable, durable and good customer service.
SupraDan24
You can't really compare an average pair of sennheisers to the likes of Bose and Beats, the difference in price is significant. For what they are Sennheisers are very good.

Ian W
£120?! I don't mind paying a bit more, but I just couldn't justify that. Has anyone used the Klipsch? Got good reviews in CNET.
Xzarik
Beats are a massive scam - average sound quality for a huge price. And annoyingly sized cans for man-ears. Sennheisers are excellent value, even more so than Skullcandy's whose build quality is shoddy (despite having excellent audio quality; they are prone to break before you've even got the Sennheisers out of the parcel they're delivered in!). The Sennheisers have a great strong cable and the buds themselves are very durable, audio quality is second to none for the price and whilst Bose will be much better in general, most people won't be able to tell the difference. My personal preference for long durations is over-the-ear Sennheisers just because they're comfortable, but I know where you're coming from wanting the convenience of buds. I've found that the variable-sized rubber bits you get with the Skullcandys fit the Sennheisers perfectly and work extremely well for my ears. Just throwing it out there if they start to get uncomfortable after a while. And remember kids - you don't need in-ear buds to go as loud as all the other styles so you're saving your ears long-term damage

A close friend has went through 4 pairs of Sennheisers at £20 each time in a shorter timeframe than that in which I have owned my Bose items. That sealed the deal for me. Though the Sennheisers are still good value for money!

SupraDan24
I paid around £30ish for my Sennheisers around 3 years ago and there is literally no signs or wear at all. I travel every month with them, most of the time i just shove them in my pocket and still nothing wrong with them. Basically, if its money no object then opt for Bose, for everything else theres mastercard Sennheisers.
manny
Have you looked at Siege Audio earbuds? I bought a pair of Alphas and they sound good and give good bass, the tangle free wires are good too.
