Homer
That is for a 6spd swap, if you have an NA you could always change to a 5spd, which would be FAR cheaper. A 6spd swap will cost £3-3.5k inc labour from one of our traders on here. Availabilty of parts is the real problem.

(ive heard need driveshafts/clutch pedal etc) as i just want a manual 5speed (dont really need 6speed as the car would stay either NA or have a single T conversion) Edited September 3, 2010 by gazzi123 (see edit history)
Homer
Depends on if you can find your own kit or get a trader to do it (is it something you are able to do yourself?) For a 5spd conversion you'll need the clutch and brake pedals and mounting brackets, clutch master, clutch slave, box, flywheel, clutch, prop. replacement trans tunnel plate (this is the tricky bit many places won't take on as it required cutting the trans tunnel). No need to change the driveshafts or diff on an NA.

Homer
I don't know about prices but would guess you'd be looking around the £1.5k for a 5spd swap on an NA. It can be done much cheaper DIY, mine cost about £300 but got lucky with the parts. If you do have serious plans for a turbo then the 5spd will be a risk, though some do use them at fairly low power levels they don't appear to last too long at higher levels. A TT engine swap is the most sensible and cost effect route where the 5spd should just about cope at basic BPU levels. It'll still need a stronger clutch though so factor that into your plans. Homer
I'm an IT bloke who can just about turn a spanner, so no, lol If you need anyone to speak to about the conversion try keron from Extreme performance or muffleman / dude from AFR. They've done loads of these conversions and should be able to explain whats needed & costs far better than most
