Matt H
I don't think that now we know who the Stig is will end things. As he was only part of the show, the show wasn't part of him. I just think he'll get replaced like the last one did. I'd certainly kick him to the kerb if I was Mr BBC.
Miguel
The whole thing smacks of cheap publicity to me, not an eyelid was batted when Ben Collins was named as the Stig in Hammond's book and accident report.

Yeah I think so too, at end of day it was in his contract to not say who he was. He broke that contract so he should be sacked. Plenty of other great drivers out there who'd probably love to take his place.... Myself included
marc_p
It's Joan Collins apparently. Not Joan Crawford? I'd heard she'd risen from the grave:d

Attero
James May announced he was the stig between 2005 and 3 weeks ago... I love all this, because I thought at the end of the day that the stig was played by various drivers. My girlfriend still chooses to believe it's Michael Schumacher. Gordon F
Thank God for that, utter drivel. Definately. It's just 3 journalists pretending to be motor engineering experts.

Supralad
dno why people are making such a huge deal about this. If you read Hammonds crash report back in 2006 then you would have found out that the stig was Ben Collins as he was named Top Gears Offical Driving Instructor (something like that). This 'well kept secret' was revealed ages ago.

For most general punters the secret was very much intact.
