Hay gang.

Father bought a load of Croissants today and they look pretty lush. I remember having them as a kid and they were nice, just pretty bland.

Can different fillings go in them? If so what are your favourites?

I wanna have some :yummy: while watching Casino Royal tonight

As if you've not had them since you were a kid.

Microwaved (obviously) with jam is the best :)

Croissants are the best (especially with butter and jam - warmed up) but they are no where near as good as the ones I had in Spain every morning while on holiday. I crave those ones constantly. They were so jaw droppingly delicious, I nearly blew my load.

And when they are a day or two old I use them to make the best bread and butter pudding ever

6 - 8 Croissants torn into 6 pieces each

500ml double cream

350ml milk

4 whole eggs

175g castor sugar

Vanilla essence

150g pecan nuts

150g white chocolate broken into large pieces

Sprinkle light brown sugar

1.Line an oven proof dish with butter and add the torn up croissants

2.Boil the milk and cream together

3.Whisk the eggs, sugar and vanilla until creamy

4.Continue whisking the eggs while you pour on the milk/cream

5.Pour mixture over the croissants

6.Add the pecans and white chocolate evenly pushing them below the surface

7.Sprinkle with brown sugar and bake in oven at 160oC for 20mins or until just set

Serve with vanilla ice cream, its fab

You can replace the white chocolate with dark or even Terry's chocolate orange which is nice
