randy
Hi! I installed the AFC and started the car the idle was very choppy and bouncing between 300 and 600 RPM there was a lot of black smoke coming from the exhaust too. I stopped the car and re-set the AFC and set all the values back as stated on MKIV.com. The car did not start and all I heard when I turned the ingnition was a repeated clicks sound coming from the engine when I crancked? I tried re-setting the ECU/ disconnected the battery/ disconnected the AFC completely ---- nothing same clicks from the starter!!!. Please help I'm really worried! randy
Thanks Gavin! Man I was worried that I did something wrong{screwed up with the AFC} I guess I hadn't used the car for a few days so I will charge the battery and see. Thorin
Just a quick note that when you disconnect the negative battery lead as (hopefully) you will have done when installing the AFC, this is effectively the same as reseting the ECU and so it will hunt around a bit on the idle until you've driven it a bit.
