imi
Sad isn't it.. not doing their country and favours in doing that. Those involved should be banned indefinitely.......need to send a tough message and uproot this from all professional sports.
Abz
Why don't they simply outlaw betting and spread betting and be done with this? Totally agree, things like this could be fixed, if the bets are on same one individual. This goes across all sports as it happens in everything, people just get too money hungry and when presented with hundreds of thousands they melt. Gordon F
Why don't they simply outlaw betting and spread betting and be done with this? Because these people are cheats and would be taking bungs and fixing games whether betting is legal or not. All too easy to blame outside influences - the real problem here is the individuals involved.

MaveriK
Utter disgrace, Trott and Broad have the innings of a liefetime and they must now be thinking was it real. Any which way you slice it its tarnished a fantastic game of cricket, possibly one the best i have ever watched and its rocked cricket to its core. I dont agree with the banning of betting and i have no problem with a sportsman betting on himself as long as its to win and win alone. Surely thats what they are trying to do anyway? Being an ignorant, are Pakistani's allowed to bet or gamble?

Really sad isnt it......ICC should have taken proper measures 10 yrs ago when this slapped them in the face back then. I dont agree with the banning of betting and i have no problem with a sportsman betting on himself Thought that was illegal anyway..... Being an ignorant, are Pakistani's allowed to bet or gamble? dont think its legal in Pakistan if thats what you are asking which is why they do it in England. strange how the police let the guy bail out without charges......lets see how this pans out. tooquicktostop
Its such a shame, the Pakistani cricket team are idols in there country and to many other nationals around the world, there are thousands who would wish to represent their country and see it as a honour to do so, this is just rubbing their noses in it, it is a disgrace, if found to be true the players involved should be banned for life, not for few months I remember when I lived in Barking Essex and Pakistan won a series, there was parties in the street, they love their cricket

It is illegal for a sportsmen to bet on himself but i dont think him having a bet on himself to win is a problem, as i said thats what he is trying to do anyway.
