p3te
I’ve just removed a few gauges from my dash but its left horrible marks , I’ve tried trim/leather cleaners and nail polish remover/white spirit and while its took most off I’m still left with a hard glue and am starting to scratch my dash getting it off, any ideas? http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/9004/dsc02238q.th.jpg
Attero
I'm wandering if you could use this: http://www.autoglym.com/enGB/product-proddetail.asp?v06VQ=GD&Range=1 I've used it on my paintwork and it worked brilliantly, I don't know if it's a good or bad idea with the dashboard though. ripped_fear
try some pannel wipe, a cloth and allot of effort! then allot of dash cleaner should do the trick with some patience.

Samurai 20V
I recommend eucalyptus oil... I use it on the exterior to remove tar...Its all natural so it shouldnt damage the dash. Maybe check it on an inconspicous spot... IN SA it can be bought at a pharmacy, I assume the same in the UK...
edge
When using wd40 or other oils leave it to soak for an hour or two before you start
