Harry Sachs
I reckon Edgar Vs Penn 2 is gonna be fight of the night, I'm gonna stick a few quid on Penn. Anyone any thoughts on that fight?

It has to be Penn. He's hurting like mad from it so it should make a cracking fight. Rumours going around that he was hurt? At least he isn't bitching and whining about it like most people do. Scott
I can't see Toney getting this, no matter how good a boxer he is. They all have the same vulnerabilities. It's going to be hard for him to stay off the ground with a determined, strong and very skilled opponent. Then once he's on the ground, he'll be flopping around like a fish out of water. If Couture had a glass jaw, or was dumb enough to stand toe-to-toe with Toney throughout the fight - maybe. But I don't think either of those things are true. This is the way I see the fight also. Couture has far too much experience doing what he does. Regardless of how good the boxer is, if he gets taken down it will be game over. A quick finish from Toney would be the only way he would win the fight. That isn't to say it can't happen, I just see it as unlikely. There has always been an argument from boxing fans, and boxers, that they are the best fighters in the world. Now, I do believe that it takes a LOT of skill to become the best boxer in the world but that doesn't necessarily make you the best fighter in the world. I would say it is far easier to become good at MMA than it is to become good at boxing. I have had this debate with friends a couple of times, during big boxing matches or big UFC bouts, and it will be nice to put it to bed
Harry Sachs
I'm hoping the same Bj that destroyed Sanchez turns up as oppose to the lacklustre one from the previous bout. Pointless putting a bet on him though, just checked he's 1/6. I might just stick it on Gray Maynard to beat Florian, that will be another cracker. Just checked the card, I forgot Nate Diaz was fighting Marcus Davis, That should be magic.
nigelboyne
IMO Toney doesn't stand a chance, If Couture wants to win he will just take him to the floor and abuse him. If you watched the last ufc (118?) with Silva vs that other guy, Silva was dominated by someone who was a better wrestler/grappler than him, and he is supposed to be the best pound for pound fighter ever. The difference between single style fighters and mma fighters is big, you've got to think that Toney is walking into Coutures style not the other way round, he will be a a big disadvantage as he will be relying on his hands to protect himself. It's like telling a golfer to go and play snooker and beat Ronnie O'Sullivan, they both hit a ball with a stick but the game is completely different... spot on randy will make this guy look slow and stupid no contest in my opinion randy shouldn even take the fight this boxer could get hurt permantely, these mixed martial atrs guys are the most dangerous guys in the world. add heywood
There has always been an argument from boxing fans, and boxers, that they are the best fighters in the world....I have had this debate with friends a couple of times, during big boxing matches or big UFC bouts, and it will be nice to put it to bed I dont think this will show a true representation on how good different styles are, as they are conforming to UFC rules. I say bring back the old style UFC where there were only 3 rules, no biting, no gouging and no fish hooks. If you look back at the 1st ones Royce Gracie beat everyone with his Ju Jitsu, street fighters, boxers, judo, etc. Mixed martial arts has become a style within itself, and I find it quite boring from what it used to be. All you see now is Mua Thai stand up, wrstling takedown and Ju Jitsu floor work... Bring back the days when you saw Karate vs Kung Fu or a boxer vs Tae Kwondo. To find the best style I'd throw everyone in a pit and then have a fight to the death lol

hadyn
Toney submitted within the first round. This is a spectacle aimed at ending the 'is boxing better than MMA' debate. I did read somewhere that Toney has a gold belt in wrestling though????
Bobbeh
They are two different sports, so its not a vs at all. Apples vs Oranges maybe. Besides we all know UFC is pants - I mean how many Boxers become top of their game after 4 fights... it would be laughable. I'd just laugh out loud if Toney beats him

Bobbeh
The only good thing to come of this 'fight' was Dana White getting a bunch of cash thanks to James Toney, and Randy Coture coming out of it with nothing but my utter respect. Decent bloke and wrestler. With regard to the fight, Toney didn't prepare, he came in at his career heaviest 237lbs and he's not a knock out puncher, he's a natural light heavyweight if he's in shape, not a heavyweight. It got him cash but nothing else.
tony tt
http://www.mmator.com/videos-serious-mma-f35/randy-couture-james-toney-t27843.html Figh here. Toney sounds terrible after the fight he said his ground game was ok its just couture is a great fighter. Toneys brains are a bit scrambled i think lol To be expected i suppose! tony tt
I prefer a stand up exchange than a ground n pound fight aswell.

Harry Sachs
I genuinely enjoy all aspects of watching mma, Everyone likes to see two guys smashing each other for 3 or 5 rounds, but it's the very small things that you don't and probably would never notice unless Joe Rogan points them out to you. Watching someone pull off an omoplata or something similar is just as good as seing someone getting KTFO IMO.
