Scott
Anyone still follow the UFC? On Saturday ex Heavyweight Champ (not to name all his titles) James Toney is taking on veteran Randy Couture. Should make a very interesting fight. The question with regards to who make the best fighters will also be answered. Watched a few of Toney's videos and he is certainly very handy. His resume is impressive to say the least. His banter is really funny, if you can understand it. aeLppoJFxEg

Scott
Hardly who the better fighter is as coture is well passed his prime! Should be a good fight though! Heard that a few times about Couture, yet to see it show though Toney is still a champ but he is hardly at his prime either. I would say they were pretty even condition/age wise. Porky1978
If its down to who is the better fighter Couture will walk it. If its down to who is the better boxer then the other guy will win.

This has always been contested by PROPER boxers though. The boxers who have came into the UFC in the past have been great boxers but nobodies as far as the truely great boxers go. Toney is the real deal.

Bobbeh
James Toney isn't really a decent heavyweight 'champ', he was at his best at Super middleweight/Light Heavy... he's just put on a lot of weight and won belts no one cares about (IBA??? and NABO). It'll be an interesting fight as he was brilliant in his prime.. (way back in the Benn/Eubank days - remember that far back?)
Harry Sachs
I think Toney has a punchers chance, buts that's about it. The past few months all the pre fight interviews he's been doing have done him no favours, he's a mentalist. He's actually out of breath everytime he opens his gob. Couture may be passed his prime but the fact that he ISA wrestler orientated fighter makes it a no brainer for me. Toney is going to the floor first chance Couture gets and it'll be game over from there. There is no way he's developed world class TDD is 6 months. In saying that I though Frank Mir would spank Carwin an ld Carwin spank Lesnar - Epic Failures so I may very likely be talking sh!te

How does a boxer stand a chance against someone who's superb in greco roman wrestling and stand up, not to mention some serious ground and pound. This Toney fella don't know the meaning of ground and pound.

Harry Sachs
I'd likecto go to a numbered event, but 120 doesn't exactly grab me by the balls, especially if you look at the cards leading up to and afterwards. Another thing would be having to pay £500 quid for a decent ticket, most likely with some 16 year old goober in a Tapout Tshirt sitting next to me. If I'd spent that sort of money I'd want to be right down the front. The cheapest and best seat is probably on the couch. That being said though I will be going when the UFC FightNight hits Glasgow/Edinburgh in 2011.

Until it went to the floor;) I'm guessing he doesn't see much of the UFC Regardless, Toney is a better boxer than Tyson. I'd want a decent card though, the last UK one wasn't exactly awe inspiring. I don't mind forking out the better half of £500 sheets for a decent seat and some bloody good fights but for the dross that seems to hit the UK I'll pass. Yeah it would be sweet going to one on our home turf, Jamesmark is dying to attend one too. Only thing is Dana White is said to have said that he wouldn't bring a numbered event to Scotland, so that leaves us with either FightNight or a Live promotion. I'd have imagined though that it wilouod still be a good card, surely if your taking your brand somewhere for the 1st time then a few big names wouldn't go a miss. Early 2011 was the when it was roughy gonna be, so keep yer pennies

Harry Sachs
Don't forget Tyson was a street fighter Tyson was/is still my favourite ever boxer, but he is what I'd class as officially fooked. I'd love to see him fight again but it's never gonna happen, partly because he's a whacked out crack head and He carryies the sort of image that the UFC try their hardest to distance themselves from so I doubt we'd ever see him in the octagon anyway. Heck they fired Paul Daley for throwing a suckerpunch, can you imagine if Tyson bit off someones nose then told Joe Rogan afterwards that he was gonna eat his children.....that would be awesome!! add heywood
IMO Toney doesn't stand a chance, If Couture wants to win he will just take him to the floor and abuse him. If you watched the last ufc (118?) with Silva vs that other guy, Silva was dominated by someone who was a better wrestler/grappler than him, and he is supposed to be the best pound for pound fighter ever. The difference between single style fighters and mma fighters is big, you've got to think that Toney is walking into Coutures style not the other way round, he will be a a big disadvantage as he will be relying on his hands to protect himself. It's like telling a golfer to go and play snooker and beat Ronnie O'Sullivan, they both hit a ball with a stick but the game is completely different... Tannhauser
I can't see Toney getting this, no matter how good a boxer he is. They all have the same vulnerabilities. It's going to be hard for him to stay off the ground with a determined, strong and very skilled opponent. Then once he's on the ground, he'll be flopping around like a fish out of water. If Couture had a glass jaw, or was dumb enough to stand toe-to-toe with Toney throughout the fight - maybe. But I don't think either of those things are true.
