optim8
I'm booked to do Croft and Knockhill this weekend through bookatrack.com. I recently changed insurer to Livingstone Insurance who specialise in Cherished Cars like ours and offer for a small addtional pemium trackday cover on their policies which is great. I spoke to them today (really helpful) to confirm how the cover in inforced and their underwritters state that as long as a trackday is santioned by the club then your covered. This is apparently now quite common with insurance companies. I think this cover also extends to any club organised event, but it must be mentioned and santioned on the clubs website for cover to be valid. Some of other club websites have a dedicated area for listing up and coming trackdays which the club would santion (ie organised by a reputable companies like bookatrack.com) so members can add their names if they're going and generally discuss the event. Do we have anything like that on here? Do you think it would be a good idea?
Wez
Sounds like a plan and a nice addition to the policy
Rajinder
As we are on the subject of insurance on track days, a few years ago I thought it was not necessary as driving standards on the track was very good. But things are different these days as you will find 40% of the drivers are complete idiots and hence insurance is a good idea. I did track day on 21 August at Castle Combes and the driving standard was appalling to say the least. As most of the marshals were OAP's and they dozed at their posts, and it was only when I threatened to sue Track Days for putting my life in danger that 2 cars were black flagged and banned for the rest of the day. What is more amazing is that these idiots are not the Nova boys as used to be the case but people driving Nissan GTR,Ferraris and Caterhams. optim8
I know what you mean, this is why I went for an insurance company that offer comprehensive trackday cover. Speaking the the insurance company earlier, apparently less and less companies are offering trackday cover now, due to your very reason and the fact that claims have risen sharply over the last few years. I've got a mate who may be up for it as well, but he's got a Z4M, wait and see how the Club spaces go I guess. Cheers. little num
Adrian Flux does trackday cover too. just for the record. I personally would use Adrian flux to insure my remote control car, they are a terrible company to deal with and if you ever claim you will not get a penny.
