Mike
Its quite similar to the sequel, Bambi Goes Crazy Ape Bonkers With His Drill And Sex. I would just like to acknowledge a sterling effort on the Young Ones reference
Matt H
Maybe not the one they were discussing then. They mentioned the viewing of a fully grown phallus. The sort of viewing that can't even be bought late night on premium cable. I think you're refering to the scene where the actors actually had sex on scene - I'm not sure what you see, but it's penetration ahoy - probably don't actually see that though - I do remember some talk about a lot of male butt in the shot. Thorin
I'm sorry Tannhauser, I really am.... I thought Taken was OK, no masterpiece of course, but reasonably enjoyable disengage brain action type film. On a related note, I saw The Pianist again recently, excellent film IMO. Adrien Brody's been in some stinkers since though.
tbourner
I liked Taken for the superhuman can't be beaten side of it, there seem to be no films where the otherwise infallible hero doesn't get into trouble at some point - Bond being a prime example. I'm a huge fan of Superman, he's easily the best superhero (probably only Dr Manhattan could beat him in a fight ) but even he has kryptonite to stop him. I know most people want a bit of excitement and 'how will he get out of this' but sometimes I just want some butt kicking from a kick butt butt kicker. AndrewOW
Hit Girl from Kick Ass, perhaps?
Matt H
Hit Girl from Kick Ass, perhaps? I haven't seen Kick-Ass, nor do I fancy it; it looks like it would just really do my head it. On another note, I started watching Avatar last night. I'll finish it, but it's already frustrating me. 'Connecting' with animals, and floating mountains? I didn't think it would be ridiculous. AndrewOW
Kick-Ass is a lot better than you think. I've watched it twice now, and still think it's excellent. You should give it a go.

AndrewOW
Kick Ass is a real life take on superheroes, and a what if? kind of attitude. Until he runs into a real pair of 'superheroes' that is! It's intelligent and funny IMO.

Attero
I'm a bit late to add my thoughts, but I'm quite excited to watch Devil. I saw the trailer the other night before watching The Expendables, and I though it looked interesting... although hopefully not entirely based in an elevator. AndrewOW
That comment was a load of (Thyssen) Krupp, if you ask me!

'Connecting' with animals, and floating mountains? I didn't think it would be ridiculous. I finished Avatar over the weekend. The first hour was really dull, but after that it got really enjoyable and you can forgive the floating mountains etc. 8/10 ( as long as you can get through the first hour)
