AndrewOW
I'd imagine he can make a huge amount of money now just being a celerity guest at racing events, and opening of old people's homes too. Maybe even the one that his former 'friends' will end up in after Top Gear finishes! Anyone could pose as the Stig though, but I think Clarkson is taking it a little too seriously IMO. ivan
I've just read that Ben Collins is now to appear on Fifth Gear, both with and without helmet. And he's driving for Airwaves in the BTCC at Brands next weekend. That should be worth watching.
Gaz6002
And he's driving for Airwaves in the BTCC at Brands next weekend. That should be worth watching. I'm going to this... he was racing in the Le Mans series race at Silverstone a few weeks back too. Will be interesting to see if he win in a BMW. Something tells me he won't though
MARTIN R
I thought he was the OLD Stig. The one that they killed off on the aircraft carrier. If he isnt the stig any more, whats the problem?? He was ONLY paid 700 quid a week as the stig according to the sunday paper so i say let him cash in. Only £700 a week, let me cry in sympathy:blink: saying that I could not care less about the book either way

ivan
I thought Fifth Gear was coming to an end? Obviously not then. Actually it's back next week: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/8036036/The-Stig-set-to-join-Fifth-Gear.html
supra-ireland
i thought it was 5-10k per episode and BTW that comes out of our licence fee Does it though? TG has a worldwide audience off 100Million+, surely the revenue it generates far outweighs any monies it receives from licence money. I.e. it more than pays for itself. It's been obvious that The Stig was Collins since the Hammond crash. Literary wise the book could probably have been written anonymously but would there not still be a paper trail back to Collins that would be quickly established? He's a loss to a show that's been on the decline for the last while IMO. It's far too contrived and there's less and less about cars that I would drive. I've always felt too that they look down their noses at modified cars.
