Dont call a junkie a junkie

The fundamental part of going to AA or any type of therapy is to admit you are an 'addict' and to 'get clean'.

If someone decides to come out with the statement that people who are on drugs should not be labelled then I'm sorry, that goes against everything that help groups stand for.

Addict - "The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something".

I agree that there are stereotypes for 'junkies' - as there are with plenty of things in life.

But the first step to getting help is helping themselves and that is the courage to admit they have a problem.

Really don't understand how gay got brought into this, quite shocking really.

Can anyone explain to me how speed cameras are political correctness gone mad?

Actually, I don't want just 'anyone' explaining it. I want some who actually understands the concept to have a crack first.

Reader of the Red Tops needn't bother.

Have you been drinking?

No! its just the drugs!:p

Where does anyone say speed cameras are political correctness gone mad????

A comma between words means a slight pause;)

But in a way of course we all know that speed cameras are/were a kind of political correctness.

Speed cameras aren't political correctness :D they were designed to increase the speed of cornering, and employed in the UK as a way of:

1) trying to kurb road deaths relating to speeding

and then:

2) as a way for local and national authorities to fund other projects.

If they were politically correct they'd have called them 'velocity recording devices'.

Don't confuse the nanny state with being PC - they're two very different evils. IMO, of course :)

I would say they are PC because we all know they do not work and are made out to be there for our own good when really they are just a cash cow !!!!

Gay people choose to be Gay, I dont know what the hoo-har is about, if they didnt want to be a Gay, they would just date women instead? :search:

Past experiance of your posts would suggest that you're being sarcastic and not serious. Plus no one with Arthur would actually think that.
