Kalel
I'm in a right pickle now, just read http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/mkiv-supra/13989-non-turbo-conversion-to-twin-turbo.html so gte engine wey better, so adding a turbo will not only cost an arm and leg but will likely f-up the engine.... guess it's time to look for that TT again... scotty71
Depends what power you want and what reliablity.

Kalel
Depends what power you want and what reliablity. I was originally after a TT but the looks of the aero is just ideal for me, I wish I was rich enough to combine Lookswise : aerotop powerwise : TT (gte engine)
stevie_b
yep, that's the one. What do you think?? We can't freely discuss that trader: see here -> http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=208654 Friendly note: I don't want to open up a discussion about them, just wanted to point out that thread FYI, so let's leave it and move on. An NA is fine as long as power isn't your primary concern. It depends what you want from a car.
Kalel
I believe I'm after the power more... Bye bye aerotop... Unless..... How much average cost of tt-gte engine transplant?
stevie_b
Engine transplant itself could be about £3000 (others on here will know more, quite a popular subject). But that's not the end of it: you may want to replace the gearbox to handle the extra power/torque: using either a 6 speed manual(expensive, and hard to get hold of) or an auto box from a TT. I believe the auto boxes from the NA and TT are different: again, someone else will be able to confirm.

Scooter
damn, TT it is. No question about it. you say the aerotop TT at £7K (pre haggle) is too expensive and are now set on a non aero TT, but these are only going to be as cheap as £4.5-6K so you are not going to save much......may as well get the aero if you want one, like the manuals it 'should' hold its value better too....... add heywood
The kit you like is the JDL bodykit, quite like the front bumper but the wings look a bit wrong... Also remember you live in England so the Aerotop feature can probably only be enjoyed about 3 times a year
Kalel
Budget is at £5k (max) wish I could do more but I can't. I've scrapped the idea of aero due to spec rather than price. I've seen some excellent n/a's for about 4k but I'm trying to find a good tt for 5k (but aero does look better IMO)
Septic
Finding a good TT for 5k is going to be hard. If you do find one it will be an Automatic with high mileage so exercise caution when purchasing.
scotty71
This is one of the best available Nr your budget but a bit over, and belongs to the man above Mr TopgunTT With the mileage and conversion to big brakes this could be a good purchase http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=206146

Kalel
Cheers mate, I even offered him a better deal but it was still out of his price range. Your cars beautiful fella, but don't get me wrong my standard price range max is 5k, now if I'm going above this figure it might aswell be towards something veeeery worth it. E.g 6speed tt with low miles and huge spec.... Or am I wrong?
Kalel
Look what I found: http://london.olx.org.uk/toyota-supra-mk4-jdm-2jz-gte-complete-engine-swap-6spd-iid-74519612
