SupraMan Mk4
hi guys my friend is interested in purchasing my car but he lives in Malta. His sister is coming to view the car tonight and if she thinks he will like it, she will pay for it there and then in cash. My query is as follows. On the V5/logbook which part am I required to fill in? I assume I (as the seller) would sign the part of the logbook that says the car is being permanently exported, and then send this slip off to the DVLA? Do I then give the rest of the logbook to the new owner? Does anybody have any experience about selling car privately abroad, and how to deal with DVLA paperwork? ANy info will be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Multics
Why don't you call the DVLA? They've very useful
SupraMan Mk4
I assume that was a tongue in cheek comment.

They need the main V5 part.

Havard
Hi Shane, thanks for the info. You just fill in the slip and send it off, the DVLA will send you a letter of confirmation eventually (I got mine today from 3 weeks ago) Once you have the money it's up to the new owner what he does with the V5.... Multics
I assume that was a tongue in cheek comment. Nope. I don't understand how a forum can give you a better/faster answer than DVLA themselves... Since when? I only called them twice in my life and they've been very helpful both times.
