Guest Suprastar2009 Posted August 20, 2010 Share Posted August 20, 2010 Hi guys I have recently had a squeaking noise coming from the rear of the car similair to that of a creaky door hinge or bed spring it squeaks on rotation and is intermittent sometime louder than other times, I had read on here it could be a wheel bearing or sticky hand brake shoes so I booked it in today to have these bits done, he has told me my handbrake shoes could do with changing soon but nothing urgent, but he thinks the noise is coming from inside the diff he thinks it's a diff bearing? Please help does anyone now if this is sound advice, how much I should expect to pay to repair it and wether it's safe for me to drive to Preston tomorrow from Surrey as I'm meant to be moving flat!!!! Suprab1 Posted August 21, 2010 Share Posted August 21, 2010 I would put my money on boot rubbers. They are a commen problem & give a creaky squeaky noise. Open your boot & have a look at the 4 rubbers that the boot sits on when closed. Usually the 2 bottem rubbers crack & cause the boot to squeak.
