jim
I'd say you'll struggle to find something that fits properly given the shape Craig, if you're not bothered too much about appearance you could cut a bit of rubber to shape (not sure where you'd get some rubber ) paint it and stick it on with some silicone. Alternatively Steve's got the stubby aerial group buy going on you could jump in there for £50.
nevins
Weld a plate in mate, it will be the only way some arse does not push the grommet through.

nevins
how about this, get a metal plate, coat around the edge with a bead of seam sealler and push into place, once set get some filler and filler the outside, then rattle can it

dr_jekyll
iv stuffed some bluetack in it for the time being until i find i nice fitting gromit

If its a track car i really wouldn't go shoving filler on it as it'll crack and fall out
evinX
i despoilered mine using fibreglass from the rear, grind the metal surroundings down from the front, fibre filler over the top, sanded it and skimmed it with filler..job done, no need for this welding business costs to much and will probably rust over if its not treated properly.
