Second car insurance

I am thinking of buying a second car which I can use for track days.

I am looking at an mx5 for approx £1500.

Now I understand that you can't use your NCB on more than one policy.

Can you get insurance cheaply for cars only doing 1-2000 miles a year?

Give my company a try, we can offer a limited mileage policy and loom at 'mirroring' your NCB over the the second car :)

I used to use a company called firebond for my Rs2000, no NCB needed and was a great price if you limit the mileage. They dealt with classic cars, had no issue insuring my MkIV RS so would probably do the MX5 as well. I had to supply valuation and pics of the cars to them, was a few years ago tho.

Firebond ARE footman james, they will only insure 15+year old cars.

Heritage classic insurance dont insure supras at all, only MK3's

Well it was a few years ago but the RS wasn't 15 years old, I checked the Footman site and it doesn't mention it, they insure modern, classic, specialist. I would think limiting the mileage would be the biggest factor in keeping it cheap.
