wallis
Its been a long old day today, but ive defo started to break the back on this project now. First up i fitted and heat wrapped the new down pipe and re-fitted the exhisting 3.5" exhaust system from the first cat back, the kit comes with a down pipe designed to go straight onto the first section of the cats, so it fitted straight on with no messing at all After the exhaust system was fitted i then started on the gearbox cooler and engine cooler, i made a small frame to fit the coolers on between the new rad and the FMIC, it was all quite tight, but worked out perfect. Im still waiting on my oil lines for the engine cooler and re-location kit, so its fustrating, but the FMIC is going to have to be dropped again to fit the hoses to it, before i can button up the front end for good. I have also managed to fit all the pipework for the FMIC, and it was very tight for the stock bumper, i had to take the hot side right out and low, to make room for the cold air induction mod in the drivers side wing, it was a ball ache, but worth it in the end, there should be a right old draft too that air filter now;) Next week im planning on starting the fueling/ignition side of things, with new pump and injectors to fit and an oil change and relocation kit to fit whilst that side of the engine is stripped. I have spent loads this week and need to start saving some pennys again! I guess u can never really plan these things blind. I tried to plan it, but as soon as u start taking an 17 year old car to bits you know its going to have its fair share of problems Cheers, m. wallis
Little update tonight, I managed to get the vac pipes all plumbed in for the turbo and boost controller and BOV. I also fitted the oil catcher can and ordered more hoses....lol I have had to put the can next to rad as its the only area i had any space left to fit it Im planning on getting the other cooler piped up asap, but im still waiting on parts to arrive, which is making things slow at the moment. Cheers craig for popping around tonight, top man;) I will do another update in a few days when hopefully ive got some more parts to play with. wallis
Its defo starting to look like im getting somewhere now This morning my oil lines turned up so i could get the engine oil cooler fitted and get the front end back together for good.....well i hope! I then managed to refit the FMIC and again hopefully for good, I then piped up the oil catcher and sorted out all the oil lines for the breather side of things, i also added a air filter to the inlet manifold and capped off the remaining vac pipes now not being used. I offered up the battery and ended up having to modify the tray, to fit the oil cooler lines and oil catcher tank, its very tight but it all seems to of gone together mm perfect I also fitted the ram air system for good going into the drivers side wing to the bumper, i had to make brackets up so its in the right possition, again its all worked out well. I seem to of spent allot of time cleaning again today, finishing off the engine bay before i have to change the injectors in a week or so. CONTINUED ON NEXT POST! wallis
Next time I do a single conversion, I will invite you to Luxemburg .. you'll have finished within a week Great progress lol......its been abit longer than a week Im defo starting to feel it working 12 hour+ days, getting home then doing work on the car! Im hoping in 3-4 weeks it will be completly finished, mapped and all;) Sourcing the parts and getting them is the hard part, i refuse to pay some of these uk/europe prices for stuff u can get for half the price, the other side of the world! Only downside is it takes longer to get the parts Cheers for the comments.

Cheers for the comments mate :-)

wallis
Hey up guys, The Projects almost gone backwards in the last week or so! I was on holiday for a week and then after two days of being back was straight into hospital for an opp on my jaw:( Im still in pain now after having the opp last thursday, i tried to get some more stuff done on the project sat morning, but it all ended in tears when i popped a stitch out in my mouth from over straining....lol Just to add to the pain ive got myself in a right pickle with my new injectors as well.......lesson to be learnt here! I sourced some recon 550cc sard inj of fleebay, stating they were from a soarer/supra so i guessed they would be 2jz stock replacment ones, there was a part no on the add of 022 and some good pics, the part no was not showing anything so i checked out the inj on sards site and thought i had found them from the pics, High res side feed 2 nozzle so great put in an offer £200 bloke accepted straight away, happy days! stripped out my old injectors and stitches sat morning and when i compared them they were nothing like...bad times! So i spoke to the seller and he was a right prick, saying i should off not wasted his time and money bidding on them etc and would not give a refund even if i paid for the p&p back to him:( I then after a few more really enjoyable emails find out they came from a fuel rail he is also selling on fleebay from a mk4 driftcar? So he says to help me out i can have the rail for a discount price of £25 from £59, so i paid him the money sunday and hes not even got back to me yet after 3 emails to him? So as it is now, i have just wasted £225 on inj which dont fit, a fuel rail which i paid for which i dont have, inj which i still know nothing about, are they high/low res etc? Its great:) well hopefully this rail will turn up and i will get the injectors fitted, fingers crossed there high res ones, if there not i have no idea what to do....lol Anyways i did get some work done sat morning, I stripped the inlet manifold off to fit the new inj, which were wrong as u know:( I fitted the new walbro 255 fuel pump on the hanger and refitted. I fitted the sandwich plate with oil cooler lines, oil temp sensor, oil sender unit for pressure and new oil filter. I also managed to fit the AEM UEGO widband sensor in the downpipe and run the wires into the car for all that lot! I have a KET 6" LCD 6-1 Gauge which will be connecting to most these sensors so i wont have loads off gauges to look at, keep it simple and looks nice;) (See Link For Demo) Hopefully i will be well enough to start work again on the car this week so will keep u posted on progress guys, Cheers, m. SupraDan24
Nice work Matt, shame about the Injectors. Hopefully get it sorted soon ay. Picked up my TT6 yesterday so i'm all sorted for this meet to see the car
wallis
Hey up fellas, Been really slow again, ended up going back to work for two days and then back in hospital as it appears i now have an infection in my mouth from the opp, so im on antibiotics now! Well i did get a few bits done today, i managed to take my injectors to a specialist to get them flow tested, to see if there 550cc or 850cc and will found out tommorrow what they are. I tested them yesterday for ohms and they are thank foooke hi res injectors, the same as stock, so no resistor pack is needed:) As soon as i know what the injectors are i can get the engine back together. So because im waiting on things i have decided to make a start on the interior, wiring up all the new gauges, today i got the KET 6-1 lcd gauge fully wired in and the uego wideband fully wired in. I also started prep work for the aem fic ecu, i fitted some conduit down through the bulk head from the engine bay to protect the vac pipes and sensor cables. It makes it allot easier by doing this and keeps all your wires tidy coming through from the engine bay;) I also started to strip out the old gauges and started to refit the apexi boost controller in the centre glove box, out the way. I plan to have the new aem boost and egt gauges fitted this weekend, when there fitted its basically done apart from ryan having to wire in the new ecu. I decided today the back seats are coming out and im going to do a small install in the back, i have got all the gear its just never been fitted in anything, i have a 15" fly sub a 10" fly sub some infinity 6-9's and two sony 1200w amps to fit in the back, i changed all the stock speakers a while back for custom infinitys so its already really crisp, just lacking real bass! I also booked the car in with ryan for thursday oct 21st to have the ecu fitted and to be mapped and dyno'd:d:D:D Will do a good update this weekend after ive done some more work, cheers, m
wallis
hey fellas, Ive been as busy as I could be with this horrid weather I received the report on my injectors and they are 850cc, so I now have some new 650cc ones which I am getting sent off Monday for a flow test and clean, this whole little injection saga has cost me some serious time on this build, it’s going to be next weekend now until I get my new 650cc inj back, and finally get the engine put back together, so I can prime the oil lines and new cooler and finally fill her up ready for the first start:) I completely stripped out the rear end, removing the whole interior including seat belts etc.. I even found a strange Japanese coin under the rear seats! Fitted the new power and audio leads for the new amps, and started on the bass enclosure, I have decided to mount the bass enclosure where the back seats were and I’m having the whole lot carpeted in a grey acoustic carpet the same colour as the original interior. I’m having a sloped back shelf from the bass bins all the way to the back of the car with all the amps mounted under it, with a bass scoop facing towards the back of the car. It will be allot easier to explain when I start to build the rear enclosure I think....lol I have fitted and wired in all the gauges, finally :d I have rewired and re-fitted the AVCR boost controller in the centre glove box out of sight, as it was just getting too cluttered around the dash area. My targets now are to get the new injectors fitted next weekend so I can get the engine back together, I can then fill with new oil and start her up for the first time, I then need to make sure my wideband sensor is in the correct mode, ready for the big hall to be mapped on the 21st October. I have also managed to get a car transporter so no need for a truck and trailer now which is a massive bonus as I’m so far away from surrey, it would have been a nightmare towing that far! Will keep u posted and hopefully get some nice new fitted pics of my new Top Secret 2 Hybrid Carbon Bonnet and new strut brace this week;) Cheers. m
JamieP
Love all your work except for that sub box, looks silly huge, you are going to need a bigger turbo to drag that thing around:D
wallis
Love all your work except for that sub box, looks silly huge, you are going to need a bigger turbo to drag that thing around:D lol, wait untill its finished mr p Its going to be really good, the bins being shaped so it sits where the old rear seats went. Its just at its basic stage at the moment, all will be revealed;) ive done the install almost weight for weight with what i took out from the back, its all light weight construction. I didnt think it would be long before someone commented on the bass bin.......lol Thx for comments guys, kinda makes it all worth while

Just shows it can be done without selling a kidney! sorry mate, missed your comment. Im trying my hardest but its getting to the point where the kidney shops sounding like a good idea now....lol The amount of hours i have done now, would easy take this build past the 10k mark! cheers.
