Homer
I'm having problems splitting an upper rear ball joint from the hub, none of the local places stock large enough ball splitters. Does anyone have expereince of a suitable splitter for this joint? TIA.

TTRickeh
Top arm ball joint? I used a Laser one from Halfords for mine. Too small for the lower camber arm though.

Yes, the top one, but the laser item I have from Halfords doesn't have the grip part wide enough to go around the rubber bush without damaging it. Will take a lok at their stock again and see if they now have better ones available. Cheers

I seem to remember someone on here (Paul mac?) modified theirs so that it didn't damage the boot.
gavin.starr
Mine is a lazer too Had to grind a bit out to make it wide enough, used an angle grinder to remove the material and then a file to round off any sharp edges as you dont want any potential fracture points. Tighten it up and beast it one with a mallet, worked for me just done mine last weekend. Gav
Jos
I recently bought a Kukko splitter, no 129-3 (30 mm) and that one works great for those ball joints. Price was 80 euros from local auto-store. edited to mention that I pulled the left upper balljoint with a regular pulley puller, I had to buy the Kukko for the lower, and used it later on the right upper joint, wich worked better than the regular puller.
