What to do first

So, I almost have my ideal supra now GZ TT Aerotop in black, BPU, dash conversion, black interior (carpets, dash spray) etc etc.

 

Basically all I want to do now (at the moment, haha) is a full respray in original black and a 6sp manual conversion. Just wondered which one you guys would do first?

I'd do the box for 2 reasons

1) it will put a lot of value on the car

2) you don't want to catch a newly painted car and scratch it whilst fitting the box etc.

well neither really 'need' doing. There is an imperfection on every panel be it bird crap melted paint, a small ding, or a bit of flaking paint. A manual conversion never needs doing, its just a nice thing to have.

 

I would guess a manual conversion would add more value to the car too as they never made a manual aero, where as a paint job would add a bit but nowhere near what it would cost.

No matter how good the paint is, a scrot will scratch it or you will pick up a stone....

strange, 3 people voted respray and yet all comments are telling me to get the box

Manual conversion, cold weather is on its way, youll be in the car, so enjoy it more, plus i wouldnt get a fresh respray just before winters due:D

The nice weather has nearly gone. You don't want to be without the car for weeks. Get the box done now and the respray done next year.

Do the box and paint it during the winter ready for next summer.

... seriously though..... do the box first.... or be prepared to removed the bonnet, bumper, skirts and wings just in case you catch them......
