SupraStar 3000
Please bear in mind, i'm not very pc technical. Received a email from my g/f today (her address ontop of the email) but when I clicked on the email it was spam. Almost like my g/fs address was hijacked. I also noticed other address from her email accounts (friends etc) where cc'ed into the email so I assume they all received the same spam. How can I stop this from happening again and kill the virus/worm etc. She has a Mcafee virus protection plan (£10 a month) all help appreciated
Branners
the fact that friends were CCd in means they got to her address book. Is she on yahoo mail?
neo2810
Lose Mcafee, buy Kapersky.... What email provider does she use? It's likely only her email account has been hacked so you need to secure that first and then go from there.

neo2810
Yeah, they will have hacked her mail server account, not her PC. Just change the password as long as they haven't changed it.
