RedM
I was out running this evening and my route took me along a path that while quiet was hardly secluded. At one point I passed a man sitting in some bushes just off of the path. He had his back to me and appeared to be reading something. Anyhoo, 30 minutes and I'm heading home. He's still there, one hand holding up a mag and the other apparently very close to his crotch. As I ran by he looked up and bit surprised. I thought "dirty bugger" and carried on. As I ran for home I thought 'Do I report what I've just seen?' even though I hadn't really seen anything conclusive. I decided that by the time I'd spoken to the cops and they'd got here he'd be long gone. Then, right where the fields end at the edge of the village i passed a young woman out walking her dogs. I ran by but then stopped and called after her. I asked if she was heading up that way. She said yes so I told her about the man in the bushes. She said she'd head back into the village. Anyhow, go home, rung the police, gave detailed description of man and location. Took about ten minutes. Offered to lead the officer(s) to the spot but was told it wouldn't be necessary. I got into the shower and the phone rang. Could I go and meet an officer near the scene? He would be about two minutes. I threw some clothes on and ran there. Twenty minutes later he turns up. We walk (not run) up the hill and through some fields to the now empty spot where the bloke was. Waste of time but the copper said I'd done the right thing especially warning the woman. I didn't mind that he wasn't there and all that but the delay in the policeman getting here was caused by......wait for it..... ....him stopping a van driver who was driving while on his phone. Mobile user vs potential perv in bushes. What one would you prioritise?
st3ven1
Well some are targeted on open/shut cases. Easy ones being using mobile whilst driving, no seatbelt etc. Good to see they have their priorities right. Well done for warning the woman & the police, many wouldn't. RedM
Where abouts RedM? Seems a bit odd he was reading a magazine whilst waiting to rape and murder. Who said anything about rape and murder? All I said was that I saw a bloke who (if I have to spell it out to you) appeared to be cracking one out in public. Last I heard, that was still illegal. Ed? SupraStar 3000
Sorry Red, It was dogging night tonight but nobody showed up The frustration was just to great and as I walked home I noticed a classic edition of Peaches besides a rock in a convenient and secluded spot. Had I known a fellow Supra owner was just minutes away I would have waited.
Graham S
Did you catch what mag it was? Surely things can't be that desperate you'd have to leave your house to polish one off? Surely everyone has a lock on their bathroom door? You did the right thing though...

Yes rape/murder is an exaggeration and my comment was tongue in cheek. You did a good thing in my opinion. Its bloody weird whether it's illegal or not. Ed? Michael's not been on the forum much lately... Laughed out loud at that.

Maybe he was already dealing with him when he got your call... Good thing you reported it though.
Rob
Indeed, a van driver on his mobile is a definite offence, whereas even if the guy was still there by the time you got back. What can the policeman do? There's a guy sitting on a bench, by then he'd have a legally available porn mag stuffed in his pocket. As far as the policeman is concerned, no crime has been committed. All he could do was give the guy a talking to and tell him he should keep it indoors. At least you told the woman about it and did all you could. Jake
I hadn't really seen anything conclusive. Seems like a waste of time for the copper really. Could you have approached the chap to see whether he was actually up to no good? I don't think I'd have bothered reporting him the BiB for something he might or might not have been doing. I don't think I'd have bothered reporting him the BiB for something he might or might not have been doing. The day I approach anyone in the woods to find out what they're doing is the day I take leave of my senses. Waste of time? Undoubtedly. I said as much to the officer at the call centre and to the one who turned up. They both said it's better to report it and it be a waste of time than to find out something bad happened and that I could've prevented it. Still, lesson learned. I'm seeing nothing ever again. F**k all y'all.
