serious car crash... shocked at a contributing factor!

I cant believe kids would even be slightly interested in doing something like this

I think I've read in the news that there were some kids throwing rocks at cars near a motorway before...

Also, I am a little bit curious how the nail seems still upright even after been run over? Looks like it's been stuck on using some kind of flexible glue and it shouldn't be that strong to hold the nail in position?

If an adult attempted to do this, he would have used L shaped double ended nails, welded together.

There's a name for that, and I can't remember what it is. I always thought it was a modern thing, from the miners' strike but in fact it is Roman. There are some in the British Museum.

Both parties had the potential to cause harm, only 1 party set out to deliberately do so and says it all in my opinion.

I doubt the police will get anywhere but I hope they do and the person/people answer for this. Speeding carries a sentence with it, it isn't a life one though and it is unfair to say they are as guilty as the people who did this. Sure if they weren't speeding it MIGHT not have turned out this way, they MIGHT have avoided the nails altogether and I MIGHT have been driving down that road with my 4 month old daughter in the car the next day. Doing the speedlimit or not I would fear for her safety in such an incident.

2 wrongs most certainly will never make a right. Especially when one of those wrongs is, IMO, a pre-meditated action leading to one person dying and 2 other people seriously injured. The murder wasn't planed, but the accident certainly was.

Shocking thread. Looks like someone who wanted to stop the street racing by slashing a few tyres now has blood on there hands. I doubt that the police will do anything about this in reality.

In the end, all parties are criminals IMO...!!

That said, no one has the right to "play god" with peoples lives and I hope that they are caught and properly dealt with.

Well put mate, I agree 100%

Have had rocks thrown at my car before from an overpass...one hit the windscreen but thankfully it was only small.

In short, kids do stupid and sick things without thinking of the consequences :Pling:

i'm not condoning these actions but living on a bit of a rat run myself and having to suffer t**ts driving like t**ts down my road does make you want to take the law into your own hands, several people on my road have even given registrations and videos to the police and they still do nothing. Its been stated this was a well known area for fast driving why didn't the authorities put some control measures in, mastic and plasterboard isn't the work of kids this was someone who was extremely p***ed off, that said they now have blood on their hands

Perhaps in a twisted sort of way, this will be a deterrant to some. Are they going to really barrel down that stretch and not wonder if someone has done the same again.

Also, that stretch of road is now tainted and I would be surprised if things return to the way they were especially in the street racing community. It could also go the other way where people will race as a tribute to the lad who died.......

Agreed, this is definatley the work of an adult or adults. it may not be just one person. If so word is more likely to get out just by slip of the tongue. Hope they find the BAS***DS.

That's a disgrace! Those self-tapping metal rawlplugs are like razor blades and you would have to be an imbecile to not know what kind of damage you would potentially be doing.

The person will never own up to it but hopefully the police can lift prints off the adhesive.

Looks like kids have done it for a 'laugh' tbh... they will now feel the guilt for the rest of their lives.

What the person who glued them to the road has done is make a very crude Stinger device, the same as the police use. When the car runs over them the spikes which are hollow leave the stinger device and stick in the tyres and let them down.

The person who done it have known exactly what they were doing hence using the plaster board screws. Rip to the lad who dies and the other 2 who were injured.

looks guys, no residents or kids did that, theres no houses or play grounds there. it was a setup! cant prove anything but i know for fact that was done for a reason, its a shame somebodys life had to go in the process.

TBH if an adult has done this they wouldn't have done it right outside their own house, anywhere on the problem road would have sent a clear enough message. I hope whoever it was is caught though.

In my view, its more than man slaughter, the person who done it must have known the speeds that the vehicles do along there, and there fore knew an accident would happen. So I would say that its premeditated murder due to the person took their time to glue them in place and wait for a car to hit them. Just my opinion so don't flame me for it.

+1

From the photo it looks like the adesive (spelling sucks. will say sorry now as someone bound to mention it :p ) was put down by a gun so that rules prints out :( Hope this is being treated as a murder investigation though and not just as a RTI.
