JODY T
Info Car is BPU with IK24s After fitting my new clutch i noticed that the car had a slight missfire on boost.. So i bought some copper plugs (bcr8es) and gapped them to .7 as recomended here.. I fitted them and the car wouldnt idle properly, it missed off boost badly however when you floor it the car launched down the road like a rocket.. No missfire on boost whatsoever.. lovely So i thought i must have gapped the plugs not quite right.. I couldnt be bothered messing with the coppers so got a set of NGK iridiums.. Fitted those and the missfire on idle was gone and engine sounded good.. But on Boost it is the same as before, The higher the boost the worse it is obviously.. Now forgive me if im wrong but this doesnt add up to me, Ide have though the missfire wouldnt change.. Does anyone have an explanation as to why this might be happening? ide have thought if it was a coil pack or lead or ignitor (VVT has 3coil packs and 3leads coming off the coils) the missfire would still be present no matter what plugs i used..
