Gambit
I've been running the car for the past four months with the second cat in, car runs fine boosting on a normal day between .8 and .9 hitting 1 to 1.1 bar when the air is at it's best. If I take out the second cat and put the decat with 1.1 RR in it makes no difference at all, boost is the same only noticable thing is that the turbo's spin up fast. So I thought I'd junk the RR and try it straight through and.... it makes no difference. No boost creep and no drama. It does seem to accelerate faster on the second turbo without the cat but why is my boost so static? I seem to remember in my early days of ownership, when flooring it, it used to squat down a lot more than it does now. Any ideas?
Guest daz 6576
is your backbox too restrictive ??? i would check that aswell cus it might not be able to dispurse the exhaust gases quick enough
Gambit
I have first and second Chris Wilson dc pipes and a Blitz Nur spec R.... So no.
Ian C
I thought a Blitz Nur Spec R was the most restrictive of all aftermarket exhausts?
Chris Wilson
If it's not a post turbo restriction then for whatever reason the turbos are maxed out at this boost level, either due to old age and inefficiency, damage, leaks or wastegate control issues. Alex
I thought a Blitz Nur Spec R was the most restrictive of all aftermarket exhausts? R = what I had on the single...not restrictive. RX = restricted/quiet. I'd hazard a leak or a silencer has degraded inside.
Gambit
So it's one of the following. 1. I have a boost leak. 2. My turbo's are shot.
Ian C
3. Your exhaust silencer has broken up inside somehow, as Alex said
Alex
Yeah, they can rot inside and the wadding that muffles the noises can get loose, clogging the pipes.
Gambit
I think my exhaust is fine.
