SupraStar 3000
I need your help to identify this little button. Whats it for? Found it hidden under the steering wheel. Looks like an original Toyota part but doesn't seem to do anything when pressed. I'm at work so can't take a pic. You'll have to make do with my photoshop effort. Seems to have a small dot which looks like radio waves emitting from it,... like this ((0)),.. and off on the other side. Anyone help. First person to say boot release gets sexually abused. SupraStar 3000
Does it switch off the interior alarm motion sensors Thats makes sense! Its an aerotop after all. Good call or is it an electronic boot opener Prepare to be entered!
Josh
I'd say it's to switch the alarm off when you lock it with the roof off.
SupraStar 3000
at the moment I can't seem to activate the alarm so can't check wether its motion sensors.

Jurgen-Jm-Imports
your car has only the Immobiliser mate ;-)
DanGX
I have a similar switch which I've been wondering about - same spot, but rounded - that actually could explain why the alarm goes off randomly on my car. Or it could really just still be faulty.
Gambit
It switches off the front laserline park sensor. Stops it beeping at rain. If you have a laserline and an aerotop, arm the alarm with the normal button then press the panic button straight afterwards to disable the internal sensors. SupraStar 3000
to be honest, it was easier to find than the real boot release lever.
Gambit
read my previous post, I had the exact same button. Did the original bumper have parking sensors? Dug my old one out. This it? http://a.imageshack.us/img832/2852/dsc00393l.jpg Edited August 13, 2010 by Gambit (see edit history)

evinX
I have one on the panel under my dash...near the bonnet release, always guessed it was for the sensor in my rear bumper which i tucked away so disconnected it.
Branners
At the risk of taking this thread down a dubious route... its the anal stimulator button, I would suggest not using it while driving.
