Well after searching for a Cosworth for a few weeks and viewing a lot of dross I have to say I have managed to get one of my other favourites from the 80's, a classic Porsche 928, it was on my wish list a few months ago but bottled it, now I have one :D

Its a VERY 80's car with a great history, it a very red and I love the ostentatious feel of it, it must have been quite a statement when new

Dave, get ready :D

I was actually thinking that, some put semi-red interiors in to liven things up, to put a full-red interior in a red car is soooo crazy, it's sane :D

You can imagine the sale can't you, it was the same price as a nice house when new !, What colour sir.... red, and the trim... red, carpets... red.....boots, dash, steering wheel, seats.... red man red ! :D

I can so imagine that, though the fella would need to be smoking a pipe when saying it! :D

Looks lovely Dean! Do you still have your Corvette?

At least this time you got a car with the steering on the correct side! :p

Yes still have the Corvette, not selling any cars any more just doing them up and keeping them

Another one! :D Always loved the look of the 928, a proper 80's bankers car ;)

Always heard horror stories about the running and parts costs on the 928, but that might not be so bad compared to a single supra!

Yes, I bottled it last time I looked at one due to the horror stories, but as I drive them a few hundred miles a year its not an issue if it needs work, Daves my man, he has not let me down yet with both bodywork and mechanicals

Blinking bankers !:p :D

I had one about 16 years ago, drank like a fish,6 miles to the gallon, 200 fully comp, whent to look at a 938 s4 on piston heads for 7.k,there was more oil under the car than in the gulf, then went to look at the supra and that's what i have now, there was no flea bay then and parts are rare,i still love them but the supra is the better car, unless you get the gts, they do a super charger for it for about 3.5 k

I agree mate, Supra is far better, I have had 6 of them though, I am collecting all the cars I wanted as a kid ( that I can afford anyway!!)

I am not too worried about mechanicals they can all be fixed, I am very used to very low MPG, thats part of the reason they are so cheap to start with :)

Whenever i see the 928 it reminds me of the scene in the film, 'weird science'(1985) when the two guys get a 928 to pick kelly Lebrock up in. they consequently wheelspin off with that georgous V8 engine and i was smitten ever since.

I never bought one & never likely to now but it always has a soft spot in my memories.

Maybe i was decieved by weird science but it still sounded good.
