pedrosixfour
Hey guys. Just jumping through threads and this caught my eye. It's of relevence to me because I'll be tackling a 1JZ conversion on my NA sometime in the near future. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=2784027&postcount=12 As this information relates to the 2JZ family is there a chance that the resistor swap mention above is a suitable way of getting my NA rev counter to read the 1JZ revs? If it does work would anyone out there know the correct resistor size needed to successfully tackle this? Thanks for your time. Damien. Lukeyboy2k
I'm using an NA tacho with 2jzgte engine, loom and AEM standalone. I bypassed the resisitor on the back of the tacho with a piece of wire and much to my surprise it worked. Not sure this will be any help for your application, but pictures can be found here: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=539134

And now I'm no expert but even to me that doesn't sound good. If anyone has a proper TT tacho lying about can they please post a good picture of the resistor in question as it's possible I'll be able to decifer the coloured bands on it to determine the proper resistance. Cheers.
