Thorin
GP4 on the PC was the last F1 game I bought / played. That was a good sim, but needed a hell of a machine at the time to be able to play with anything like a reasonable refresh rate. Oh yes. It wasn't until years later I could actually stick everything on full detail and it run decently. By that time there were games with much better graphics though. johnny g
As Tony said, the GTR series for PC are proper sims, you can export your datalogs and import them into real Motec software for analysis, the graphics are great on a decent setup rFactor too - it's incredibly detailed and I often lose 5-6 hours playing it, much to my Mrs' dismay
Whitesupraboy2
Cant wait for this only a week away. And it looks like the AI are gonna be good as this AI is on medium settings and he's not exactly racing to the front in the red bull, as for the wet...if he did so well in the dry and then struggled in the wet so much looks like they have nailed it (for a console game at least)! anyone else pre-ordered it? Looks fantastic. Only £31.85 for Xbox and PS3 and £19.79 for PC from here. They guarantee that you'll receive it on the release date if you order before the 22nd too. What system would you choose to play it on though? I'm generally a PC fan and have an old microsoft steering wheel for it, but i've ended up with a PS3 and Xbox too, which i use pretty rarely (got as a bluray player and one for Forza 3). So which system should i go for?
Whitesupraboy2
So which system should i go for? well the forums there are very good. heres link to images http://community.codemasters.com/forum/f1-2010-game-1316/427401-graphics-comparison-pcgames-de-between-ps3-xbox360-pc.html I think the graphics go PS3 > xbox > PC the PC does look amazing!! but ive got steering wheel for xbox so xbox it is. although Xbox darker which can be sorted by adjusting TV it just looks crisper...either way id always go for the paltform that has the wheel over the graphics anyday. JamesC
I decided to go for the PC but i can't pre-order that one for some reason, anyone know why?

Angarak
Just been looking at some info on this for the PC version, looks and sounds very promising, think I may get it. Up to now, GTR2 is the best racing sim I've played, plus you can add Supras into it, but now I find myself wanting a little F1 action

You can only pre-order from Amazon now. After the game is released they have decided to not sell a box set for PC only downloadadle.
Angarak
You can also pre-order F1 2010 for the PC via Steam, and there is a £10-off offer this weekend (£26.99).

Homer
I guess this isn't going to be playable with a keyboard! Hmm, what to do... GT5 for the playstation (need to buy a wheel) or this (also need to buy a wheel!) Are there any wheels that are compatible between the PS3 and PC? Are there any wheels that are compatible between the PS3 and PC? the Fanatec Porsche Wheel Turbo S is compatable with PC / PS3 and Xbox GT5 i think will be great in its own way but ive been waiting for a proper F1 game for ages and with dynamic weather and a track that can dry in patches round the track sounds like a good challenge

Might have to dig out the old one from the cupboard and see if it works on Win7! Like you I've been waiting for a decent F1 game for years, there's not been anything halfway decent since GP4 IMO. Just hope this game hasn't been dumbed down for the playstation generation...
Angarak
Just been on the F1 2010 forums and got the impression it isn't a true simulation ...they had to cater for the casual gamer as they are a bigger market than die hard sim fans. I think I'll hold off buying now till I read unbiased reviews from the gaming community ...you can't trust gaming sites these days for a fair article. Neil-NA
Off topic but how does the Porsche wheel compare to the Logitech? I will be buying one of the 2 very soon, just want to make sure i get the right one.

Homer
Showing my age now, but Yes, that was awesome. Always had trouble running it with all the graphics on and remember the "floating" cars in the wing mirrors What was it, can't seem to recall!
