Motherboard bundle advice

Well the time has come to upgrade my tired old motherboard and processor, and to speed up my machine somewhat... i've always used AMD equipment in the past, however now i'm not so sure as to who is making the best kit?

I generally buy computer stuff from Novatech, and there are 2 bundles at around the price I am looking to pay, one is AMD and the other Intel. Can anyone in the IT business give me some words of wisdom as to which bundle is likely to perform best? I don't play games on the computer, really it only gets used for web browsing, playing/burning music and the odd bit of office work.

Here are the links to the 2 bundles:

AMD: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/MotherboardBundles/Novatech/MBB-93502G.html

INTEL: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/MotherboardBundles/Novatech/MBB-542G43.html

Any feedback, as always, will be greatly received.

Patrik.

The Intel One. Its supports DDR 3 RAM Rather than DDR2.

The Intel chip is only Dual core compared to the AMD Quad core but the intel chip is quicker and for what you want it for the extra cores wont make much of a difference.

Regarding the best.....Intel by a long way :)
