Ah Graham while your about.

It doesn’t seem to worry about the rev limiter at all. Anyone no what the stock limit should be????????

Hmm think I need to find me a run way!!!!

I know when you floor it in neutral for attention grabbing it revs to 6500 (on the limiter) and dose the cool banging and popping!!!!!

Graham it was just the cams that were replaced?????? Or more....

E.G. Is the engine stronger in any way to warrant the rev limiter being higher???

Top speed is governed by where the max BHP is on the rev range. On stock UK-spec car the max BHP point is at 5600rpm so in 6th gear your top speed will be at 5600rpm, which should be just over 180mph.

Although by tuning the car and also raising the rev limit you can go to the end of 6th gear ratio which I think has been calculated to just over 200mph.

Well, I know Christian Doran's car has done 188mph clocked by radar (a time trap, not a police speed trap!), dunno what it can do max though (that was over 2 miles).

His J-spec autobox is unmodified at all...

Gaz.

It was only 187mph actually, doing about 7050 revs according to the main rev counter.

Got 185 on the 1.25 mile run and as Alex said, for the final run they gave us an extra bit of crap runway with trees growing out of it etc., I'm not complaining though. I was prolly doing 60-80 mph across the original start line for the 187mph run.
