DanGX
Ahh when ever I see that word - I cringe. And I will tell you why. I used to have a boss whos last name was Ramadan - he was also aggressively gay. He always took a shine to me and colleagues would often say... 'Oi Dan, watch out - Ramadan is coming to Ram-a-Dan.' AndrewOW
This thread has made me hungry..... It's a kinda anti-'what shall I have for lunch' or 'will it kill me' kinda thread. As for me, I'm not having a chicken, sweetcorn and mayo sarnie, or a jam sarnie with no delicious afters of a black cherry yogurt. Not yum
Paul
So what's the score then, you fast all day and then stuff yourself silly between sunset and sunrise? Can you drink anything during the day ?

Septic
Yeah pretty much but the thing is, your stomach shrinks and you can hardly eat. Also, you get really tired as soon as you have your first bite. Nah you can't drink at all until sunset which is the hardest part. There's this lovely water cooler here and it looks so sexy right now that I would gladly sodomise it.

Didn't know about the drink thing, a guy I used to work with years back used to follow it and he had a dodgy ticker, he was pretty ill by the end of it tbh. What's it represent in your religion ? What's it represent in your religion ? You shouldn't be fasting if your ill, people who are ill are excluded from fasting. You can't eat or drink from Sunrise until Sunset, no water or anything. It is one of the 5 pillars of Islam which we follow, basically it a month of charity. Similar in a way to how in Christianity you give lent, or you would refrain from eating too much and mainly bread\pancake based. During this period you are fasting for all the poor people around the world who can't eat a clean meal everyday. Brings you back down to earth to remember those who are less fortune than you. Other things included in this month are more prayers, one very long one which gets completed each night. The charity part is you need to donated 2% of all your earnings to Charity, give clothes etc. Then after the month has finished you have 3 days of celebrating where you can stuff your face. Though it is recommend doing this fasting period you don't stuff your face as it defines the point of fasting, all them poor people don't have the luxury of a coke once the sun sets like we do. What's it represent in your religion ? You're not allowed to fast if youre ill, on your period, poor etc. If you have a heart condition you are forbiden from fasting if it will have an adverse affect on your health. Ramadan is a month to seek forgiveness and exercise restraint. You are supposed to give any surplus food to the poor or needy. It's not just about fasting. No swearing, fighting, sex before sunset lol. It's a month of self reflection as well.
