Take it back and get it swapped, they should do it.
mawby
Is it the same amp? Maybe that's the problem if you've blown two subs in as many weeks.
monsween
Could be the amp as mawby said, but your first flaw was halfords. Ive had my alpine type r 12" sub for 3 flawless years.

RobD
I've got a vibe slick 12" sub for sale if you need it bud, although I'd say you've got problems elsewhere as mine has been up quite loud in it's time and hasn't gone!
hodge
Was it brand new Steve. If so you havecto run a sub in for I think off the top of my head 20hrs before you can wack it up. Slowly increase the volume over the 20 hrs so the diaphram has time to stretch. Turn it straight up from new and there's a good chance it's gona pop. Suprab1
No matter how bad the sub none should blow after a week. Vibe though would be a good brand of sub & should last untill you want to change it. I would check your amp as already said. What power is your amp? Also what power is your sub? If your amp is under powered it can & will damage your subs.
hodge
My moneys on it's been turned on too loud before running in time was complete I've seen it loads of times.
hodge
If it does turn out to be the amp I've got a Jackson 5 channel cometition amp for sale.
jackso11
if you need the music so loud it is blowing the subs, you need your ears syringed. You must have massive wax blockage

You must have massive wax blockage Amp's can blow subs quite easily, were they spec against each other or did you just use the amp as it was the old one? johnny g
Are you cross overs/pass filters working ok? Too much volume with higher frequencies isn't good for them either...

I agree, 20 hours is about the minimum and you should probs start from the amp, i.e. turning the power up from the amp slowly. I think the other issue you had was Vibe, not the best subs, go for a JBL GTO (about £40 iirc), amazing sub as they actually made a better sub than they thought they had! These were louder and had a better sound than my JL 12w3v3 's!! Mind you I had a custom box made by vxincar for material cost (the owner was up and I know him very well)
a98pmalcolm
see what they say but if its the voice coil thats gone they most probly want swap it. I had a brand new sub and amp for sale dirt cheap for a month but its sold now

They can really take a hammering!
supra steveo
Well I got a new one today , they just exchanged it, I rekon the voice coil had gone too , on pushing the cone down it was crunching It's a slick 12 vibe sub the spec is better than the JL 12W0 we will see what happens with this sub but I think I need the amp checking out too
