Doug
Ok guys, this morning my clear side repeaters arrived. Great I thought, I then opened the box to be confronted with a strange piece of technical wizardry: the indicator housing has two screws at each end which are slotted in. To wit, it appears you would have to attach the indicators from 'inside' the bumper So is my thinking correct or is there an easier way that doesn't involve me dismantling my bumper to fit these? PS pictures would also be nice
Gaz Walker
Do you mean front repeaters Doug? Gaz.
Doug
No Gaz, I really mean side repeaters. Facelift Supra's dont have those little square ones on the front wings, they are long and on the side of the front bumper.
Gaz Walker
Ah, side markers as the japs/yanks call em? Gaz.
Doug
I always thought the ones on the front were just called indicators
SimonB
I think you do have to do it from "inside" the bumper, but I also think you can get at it by taking off the wheel arch lining rather than the whole bumper.
Darren
Doug, Where did you get your lenses from and were they lots of dosh? Ive only seen them advertised in the states.... Cheers Darren PS You might as well fit a FMIC while the bumper is off!!!
Doug
Tempting Darren but I think I'll pass. I got the lenses from procarparts.com but to say the process is a pain is understatement. I had to get a friends sister's husband to order them as they will only take a US billing address, then get them to mail me the indicators. I'm hoping that having them marked as a Gift will stop customs trying to rape me with VAT. All in all it has taken 5 months to sort this, now I think I'll have to wait a bit longer and get Leon to do em when I 'm down there in the new year. hogmaw
I gave up with them. Their payment process is a nightmare. After a few weeks I managed to pay them but they said it was short. It turns out that their quote for International Shipping was relevant only to US miltary bases or something daft. Classic example of American Company thinking "America Leads The World And Y'all had Better Do Things The American Way Or Miss Out. Rather than go thru it all again I said OK then I will miss out, you keep my money (about $50) for your Xmas party, I will buy elsewhere

ivan
If anyone wants a pair of these they can have mine for £20 incl postage. I bought them only to find that my bumper repeaters aren't even wired up. A shame, as they'd look the D's B's with Silvatec bulbs in... (Does anyone know how to link to an attachment that has already been used in a previous post? Would be handy and save re-uploading pics.) (Does anyone know how to link to an attachment that has already been used in a previous post? Would be handy and save re-uploading pics.) These are different to what Doug is referring. His ar for the front bumper, they are just the rear wing markers.
ivan
Nope, the rear wing markers are just red reflectors on mine. They are front bumper side markers and they have the fixing pins inside as described above. Come complete with amber bulbs and replace the lights arrowed in the first post Here The box is actually marked "Celic 2000 side lamp", and as they are just the right size I thought I'd give them a go. As I said though, my existing orange markers aren't actually wired up.
