Chris Wilson
Tristan Cliffe, a remarkably talented young driver in Monopsto shows how even the most ignominious of starts can be translated into a race win, (well, nearly, read the captions). I spun my F3 car on the warm up lap at Pembrey once, started form the pit lane with a 10 second penalty, and managed to get up to second by the end of the race. It's amazing how much quicker you can go flushed beetroot with embarrassment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSg3f7-K1RI&feature=player_embedded#! Ian W
Surely that's not all talent? His car seemed a hell of a lot quicker than some of the others out there. Still impressive none the less
JamieP
His car looks miles faster than everyones elses car? is he in a different car or something?
martini
From the driver... @rkooij Several are in my class. At 1:00 (Formula Renault 2000), 1:44 (Dallara F300, newer than mine, but with a bit less power on his F3 engine), 3:35 (Van Diemen), 4:20 (newer Dallara F300 with identical but apparently more powerful engine), 4:55 (Dallara F398 with Vauxhall engine - last years champion)... The 3:35 pass when I have to slow down and then go around the outside shows that my power advantage is actually tiny. I just had less wing angle but more grip and confidence..... Chris Wilson
It's an F3 Dallara like I had, a lot of it is set up, some of it is that it is one of the best cars in an amateur series that supports some older cars and technology, plus he's young in a field of mainly "more mature" drivers. He's also got supreme talent that may take him far, and he is pretty fearless. Thruxton favours or devours the brave, it's the fastest (by far) UK circuit. Catherine Legge wiped up the same series a few years back, and she's in Indy and DTM racing now...

Chris Wilson
Sadly, to his glee, or their shame, depending on your point of view, they weren't
