MaveriK
Greetings All, Is it possible to patch 62.5/125 and 50/125 cables together? Thanks in advance
JustGav
Yikes, that takes me a back a while.... you can....BUT you will end up with powerloss and it REALLY isn't recommended... Might be better off going through a transceiver of sorts.. TBH I wouldn't..... What are you still doing with 50/125 though?
MaveriK
Flaps, had that in the back of my mind but was hopefully.
JustGav
Bear in mind 62.5 and 50 is the actual fibre diameter, which means the light isn't refracted cleanly as it transitions from 62.5 to 50 and vice versa... in fact, 50 to 62.5 would probably be a lot better than the 62.5 to 50 side.... caseys
Multimode or single mode fibre? And no it'd be a pointless splice tbh. Not only as Mentioned above by Gav but you'd have horrible attenuation loss.
MaveriK
We have 62.5 and 50 multi mode and some 9 single mode. We have ST, SC, MTRJ, LC presentation. We have thin ethernet fluttered around the site plus some thick is still in use. The majority now is thankfully on structured. We have stand alone wireless access points and a mesh running off a WLC. And we are just installing a WAAS device. On my toes, hell yeah!
