Cigarette lighter not working

As said the cigarette lighter doesnt work in the car, nor does my sat nav charge up when i plug it in.

I see from Kevin_W's previous thread when he had a problem that the fuse linked to the ciggy lighter is no.10 in the 'drivers kick panel'.

Drivers kick panel - is this the fuse box inside the car? If so where is it located?

Has anyone else fixed this problem?

Yup, my lighter didnt work either but the fuse was fine. Turned out to be the lightbulb which appears to be inline (parallel) so if it blows, it takes the lighter with it. I've only just ordered a new ring unit to replace.

Fusebox is under your dash to the right of your pedals (you need to be a contortionist to get at them :S ). There is another fusebox in the engine bay but not sure any of those affect the lighter.

In the mean time ill check the no.10 fuse and see if its broken, fingers crossed it is.

Anyone with any other suggests is welcome :) otherwise ill update after i have installed the new blub friday

My lighter was just unplugged from the previous owner ... one God knows why.. the small light from the lighter is removed however the lighter still works fine even without a light... maybe I have a different version to yours.

By the way I still dont know where that fusebox is ... it does not seem as visible is it under the panel do I need to remove the panel it self?

Do the fan controls light up? if they dont then its probably the fuse in the drivers footwell. I had this problem about 3 weeks ago. Someone tried to pump up an airbed from the cigarette lighter and it blew the fuse, i didn't know untill i noticed the heater controls and my gps not working, stuck a 7 amp fuse in and all was well.
