Attero
I've just got new brake pads installed on my stock n/a brakes. It's still squealing but only half the time rather than all the time. I'm wandering if the stock brakes have an anti-squeal shim installed? Do brake pads squeal as a result of wearing in (so it should fade away soon hopefully)? I'm impatient... I know. But SupraPod is coming up and seeing as my paintwork isn't exactly pleasing, I thought I better make an effort with as much as I can on the little things. nevins
Did the pads not come with a shim stuck to them? Also did you change the pads due to them being oddly warn. If you have badly scorn disks or warped disks then your pads are going to be destroyed in the exact same way, also were your slides free and not stuck in position, and are you sure your callipers are not seizing?on. aman00123
Depends which pads you got mate, if they're stock then no idea but some aftermarket will squeal no matter what..... I have ceramic pads on my TT and they squeal sooooo badly at low speed, unless I stamp on them!
Gaz6002
Which pads are they? Race compound pads often squeak.
Attero
Standard pads. I got Toyota to fit them IF AND ONLY they were the cause of the squealing as part of the MOT service. I have no idea if they came with a shim as I didn't know what they were until a moment ago. Can the squealing disappear completely once worn in? nevins
Toyoat done the work, if so give it a few days if it does not improve take the car back. I have never had this problem on any pads I have fitted tbh.

nevins
They obviously did not test drive the vehicle, after carrying out the work which you should always do.
