SupraDan24
Hi Guy's, i've got 3 weeks at home this trip so am thinking about getting my CBT and bike theory done. I know the bike Q's are different to the car's, but is there any difference in the Hazard perception test? Also, i plan to get a 600 for my first bike, does anyone have opinions on which to get? I'm thinking of an R6 as i love the looks. As usual, any help and opinions are appreciated. Thanks
TRD-Rob
i thought you could only ride a 125cc with a cbt, might be wrong tho
SupraDan24
Yeah you can, i'm just going to do the CBT and the theory this trip home, then the other 2 modules over the next two trips to break it up. The 600 is going to be the end result.
jackso11
I would recommend getting something easier to handle as a first bike. There is a reason why your insurance takes a massive drop after your first year of riding. I passed my test 13 years ago and could ride anything I wanted, I just got myself a er-5 (500cc 33hp). Nice ride, not that quick but still quicker acceleration that any car. 0-60 was about 4.5 sec I think. Easy to ride. Then got a ninja 600. Wise words, something smaller will pay dividends not only to your wallet but in gaining much needed experience.
SupraDan24
So any info on the Hazard Perception?
Purity14
Yes, buy the DVD - you wont pass unless you buy the DVD and understand the scoring system, and how to "work" the system to get maximum points.
Purity14
I got mine from tesco for about £8 quid.
SupraDan24
I did the hazard perception a few years back when i did my driving theory, i was just wondering if the bike HP was different from the car one.
Purity14
Oh sorry, I have never done the hazard perception before you see - so I needed the DVD. It is no difference at all(as per the dvd), you just spot hazards. Only the questions on the first part of the test are differernt.

I tried googling it but couldn't get a definitive answer. There's a certain nack to the HP if i remember rightly, so i''ll undoubtably re-buy the DVD just for a refresher. I've been averaging over 45 for the theory Q's the last 2 nights so i'm reasonably happy with those now.
