edge
I had a small tingling pain in my head and realised it was a thought coming through. Why not have a meet that involves a bit of diy and learning and save some of the pennies? Idea- Meet somewhere big enough for a number of cars Get BBQ going Bring some oil and filters and plugs if needed Members can then be shown how to safely jack up their cars and where to put axle stands, how to drop the oil all over the floor into a can and change the oil filter, air filter and plugs if needed. You would bring the basic tools, oil, filters and plugs if they need changing aswel. Then have some munch, a nice cuppa or a few beers. Then leave with the confidence that they can do some basic up keep of the supra and save a little cash in these tough times. There are alot of us who can easily teach the basics while catching up and having a laugh and picking on blackie. And maybe have a service race for a little prize So who is interested in Helping Learning Cooking making the tea When can we do it and where would be a good place? Gaz6002
Great idea. If this happens, and one of the 'tutors' agrees to work with me, I'll make sure a basic servicing guide gets printed in Toyota Performance Magazine with coverage of the event. Anyone with capability of doing a basic oil, air, plug change will be greatly appreciated to help out as it would be nice for it to be one on one and not rushed so the more the merrier

JustGav
ibtl No..... not like that, I'll have a word with qualified mechanic I know, who used to teach at a college as well... Would you guys consider paying fuel? (actually, if he says yes, I'll pay for the fuel)
edge
This is not being aimed at taking trade away from anyone but to teach people basic up keep. How many know how to check the oil levels, autobox levels, coolant levels and the rough condition of a spark plug and to be quite honest its a job i hate doing but hey
JustGav
Hold on guys, I think you have the wrong idea here.... I'm 100% for these sort of things, hell if an IT guy can swing a spanner some jobs like myself (with guidance) then anyone can

Hope whoever the BBQ bitch is gets decent sausages as i'm not willing to give up my time for cheap ass value stuff!! Myself and maybe one or two more i maybe able to round up are able to teach. I have an old bbq i can bring along with a few tools and axle stands. I think anyone wanting to learn should bring either a pack of cheap ass sausages for graham So maybe each learner to bring either pack of sausages or burgers, buns etc

Those value sausages we only a small amount of meat! Same as those cheapie cheese slices, think they had only a tiny percentage of actual cheese! Check next time you go shopping, read the labels on the back and see whats in them! Including cheapo chicken titties, they are blown up with water to make them look bigger, just like jordan! (although i assume she has a more longer lasting substance in hers!) I $&!t you not dude!
