fizzle
my xbox died last month, 3 red lights, had it since early 2007 without fault.. anyway rang up and blagged them into taking it back for repair, UPS guy came to pick it up the next morning, but didnt have a box so he left the label to return it.. a month later and me just being lazy and not finding a box, i finally took it to UPS (after missing the pick up guy) and sent it back.. Some guy rings up today asking if i had sent it, after confirming details and postage he said that they are not making elites anymore so will be getting upgraded to the new model for free:D might be time to dig out any old ones guys!! DodgyRog
That's a great result. The Xbox might be a unreliable noisey pig, but you can'yt fault Microsofts customer service
SupraDan24
OOOO, hope mine dies ! We tried to RROD my mates last year so he could get a new one, wrapped it in a towel overnight as we thought overheating it would do the trick...bloody thing refused to give up
SupraDan24
Might be worth tralling Egay for a broken one, or buying one second hand and "encouraging" it to give up the ghost?? just a thought.
Josh
Mine broke (RROD too) and I ended up buying a new one as the cost of fixing it was more than just buying a 360 Arcade. I can't really remember what happened but it was better to just buy a new one. Happy you got a good result! edit: Just realised I got the RROD and then it went but I still couldn't play games so as below I tried to RROD it myself but it wouldn't break so that's why I bought a new'un. Josh
Might be worth tralling Egay for a broken one, or buying one second hand and "encouraging" it to give up the ghost?? just a thought. I wrapped mine in a towel for over 24 hours with it on and a screwdriver stopping the fan from turning and it just kept on working too.
