Jake
So we're doing 'name your 10 best and 10 most over-rated actors of our generation.' I'm trying to think of the guy that lost a mega amount of weight to play a guy having hallucinations in a "what's real and what's in his paranoia?" type film. I seem to remember it being a very grey kinda cinematography. Any idea who I'm on about? For me the best actors have been .. James Gandolfini Daniel Day Lewis de Niro Viggo Mortensen Edward Norton Ralph Fiennes ... I'm struggling to come up with 10 ! The worst ... Al Pacino (I hate his style of over-acting) Morgan Freeman Larry Fishbourne Nick Cage Tommy Lee Jones Anyone like Hugh Grant, Colin Firth Yours? Swampy442
Without doubt the worst is Cage, with every film I still wonder how he gets a job. Kevin Spacey is right up there, Ed Norton, Daniel Day Lewis is a powerhouse, Ive yet to see a bad Denzil Washington film, Johny Depp. But theres so mny un named actors that get my vote. Almost all of the cast of City of God are rightup there

Usual Suspects being the obvious one but he's done many other fine movies. Seen "Glen Garry, Glen Ross"? Wonderful acting by several of the cast. One of my favorite films ever. Again, Denzil Washington is a good cal. not sure about Jonny Depp though, I just don't "get" him.

Havard
Cage is good in Gone In 60 seconds but I do generally find him annoying....... My top ten would be based on particular performances: Denzel Washington - always good Sean Connery - " " Brad Pitt - Fight Club and Snatch, Seven, unbelievable in all Russell Crowe - Gladiator/A beautiful mind Ed Norton - always good. Robert De Niro - always good Kevin Spacey - American Beauty.... Johnny Depp - Pirates..!! Clint Eastwood - Always good Jack Nicholson - Always good No room for Tom Hanks, maybe it's impossible to narrow it down to 10?? There are loads more but I can't remember half of their names..!! H. johnny g
In addition to most of the above, Andy Garcia always gives a good performance. Jack Nicholson again never fails to let down. I like Tommy Lee Jones too. Worst? How long do we have. But for me, Will Ferrell is one of the worst out there.

johnny g
Great shout on Ray Liotta. I think Arnie can easily fall into either category. He's that bad, he's good!

NOS
DiCaprio is in good movies (Blood Diamond, The Beach & Catch me if you Can). Also, I think Steve Martin and Jack Black are good. All time favourite is John Candy though.
Shane
I have always liked Tom Cruise as an actor, always seems to fit the role well. There's actor I just can't stand, don't know his name though and not really interested in knowing it. He used to play a detective in the bill, now he is in some rubbish "where there's a blame there's a claim" type ad, he was also in Essex boys (an excellent film otherwise) and I think he's been in a couple more of that type of film, "rise of the foot soldier" maybe. Anyway he is crap and unconvincing as the thug, gangster he is always portrayed to be.
johnd-mkiv
Michael Caine is the worst for me (his hard man acting is shocking) closely followed by tommy leigh jones

My point being how many films could be better if someone other than him played the part.
