Guigsy
My handbrake has been crap for ages. Nice and tight handle wise. The actual pad bits whatever they are called have been changed quite recently but it doesn't hold the car at all. Can drive on tick over speed (auto) and put the brake on with hardly any difference. I've driven off with it on a few times too. Although I turned it off after a few 10's of metres. Are supra ones bad in general. Mine have never been good in my 2 supras
DodgyRog
Think they are just poor mate, mines sounds similar to yours. Certainly wouldn't try a handbrake turn with it:)
ShamelessTT
Well, i have to say mines really really strong, probably just needs adjustment. Either that or the cables stretched by someone putting it up to hard........thats the other option.
TTRickeh
Even though i've changed my handbrake shoes and adjusted it plenty I still think it's a bit crap compared to other cars too. Have you adjusted it through the hole in the disc?
Guigsy
It's been adjusted there yes. Last time I got it back it wad tight and hardly moved but was still crap
SupraShaun
At the rear of the car the cable branches of into two. One of the sides on mine had a small split in the casing, which caused it to seize up and not lock on properly, so worth checking.
Abz
Mines really tight, it was very loose but was tighten like at Whiftblitz for a service. Think it is normally the handbrake cable which needs to be tighten.
Gaz6002
My novelty brake is crap as well. I have to use two hands on it if I want to do a handbrake turn
martini
Mine's not the best. I park her in gear to stop any rolling away as I don't trust it.

BazzaAlpine
Poor but then I know my rear pads need changing anyway and will get it adjusted at the same time. Does the hand brake use different pads? That will be a pain in the butt if they do.
evinX
Mines the same, so was my brothers bmw and his range rover, yesterday i asked my mate to have a look at tightening the shoes, if it works, im sure you can pop down and give him a couple of quid;)
Dnk
Poor but then I know my rear pads need changing anyway and will get it adjusted at the same time. Does the hand brake use different pads? That will be a pain in the butt if they do. The handbrake is inside the disc as shown in the diagram, the pads in the caliper on the outside of the disc are nothing to do with the handbrake. If your handbrakes not working very well i'd remove the disc and clean up the drum inside the disc with some 120 grit paper, i'd also go over the handbrake shoes as well, then make sure its adjusted properly. Im supprised if your handbrakes are that bad you pass the brake test at mot time
