Gaz,

Yup. The one on the left is the boost and turbo timer (it adjusts the idle time according to how much stick you've been giving it) and has a peak boost function, and the one on the right is the speed in mph (thanks to the dongle) it'll time a 1/4 mile run, has a trip timer, odometer/trip, clock (to replace the one which the water temp replaced) and revs.

Thanks guys.

Gavin,

I glance at them from time to time, but as they all flag up programmable visual and audible warnings its obvious if something is amiss.

It's especially useful for diagnostics as I can go for a run it'll record upto 3 minutes worth of information and I can then play it all back and see at what revs and boost everything is happening such as EGT's, fuel press, oil temps etc.

I prefer to know what's going on so that you can catch potential problems in their early stages especially when experimenting and tuning. It's saved my Subaru three times from certain engine damage, once with a blown air flow meter, once for head gasket, and once for a damaged boost vacuum pipe over the 4 years I've had it.

FaithStalker,

You can see it perfectly in the day as it dims automatically with the lights on, it's something that's hard to imagine from these pics, it really has to be seen in the flesh. The Speedo is much clearer than the oe one and much easier to look at when the turbo is in and the same with the boost.

DArby,

It comes in KM/h and Mph, the VSD II (speed/revs) is switchable for both kmh and mph, the Sports VSD (loads of features) as fitted to my Supe is only available in KM/h although as the car is a J-spec and the frequency has been converted it reads mph even though the symbol says km/h if that makes sense. I'll have to look into disabling the K part of the symbol if its poss.
