suprafreak123
i was told you could use the seatbelt tags to find out the year of the supra?
mawby
Every seat belt tag has a year of manufacture on it that is normally the same year as the car was manufactured. It's not 100% reliable for several reasons but it can be used to identify a car advertised as being much newer than it really is. If you want to know the year & month your Supra was made it's much better to put the frame number into the EPC and it will tell you.
Swampy442
Decode it? It should just have a month/year printed on it. As Mawby said its not 100% reliable as they can of course get changed, but if you check all the belts out you should get your answer as at least some of them will match up

Nic
Get the Frame Number off the VIN plate and go HERE to the 'Japanese Supra Chassis Production Numbers' section.
suprafreak123
how accurate is the result from the frame number?
mawby
how accurate is the result from the frame number?PM me your model code (i.e. JZA-80-ALPZZ) and your frame number (i.e. JZA80-1234567) and I'll look it up in the actual EPC. It's 100% accurate as it's the information Toyota use for supplying parts.
Paul
Pull the ashtray out and there will be a moulding date stamp, giving month and year.
DodgyRog
Or you could do it yourself here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41702 then print off the results for future reference, thats what I did anyway
